World Super bike at Assen, 2011.

Fantastic weekend. Little on the chilly side, but it was spring. Assen was a nice little town, with some very good restaurants. Fairly large party downtown Saturday night, live band, crowds of people out enjoying the music and drinking some fine beers. The track was really cool (yes, I understand it isn’t what it used to be), but we were able to walk around the circuit and get good views from just about every corner. Friday and Saturday were pretty quiet, as far as crowds, so we took advantage of it. We will usually go all three days, even when races are local to us, so we can walk around the track, get pics and views from as many locations as possible and pick a location for the Sundays races. Hotel was probably the biggest disappointment. Very generic, and some weird form of currency where you had to buy tokens and then use the tokens to buy food and drinks. WTF? Needless to say, the walk into town was nice so we took advantage of that and did all of our sustenance intake there.
